Corrections & Retractions

Accuracy is the foundation of credible journalism. When we get something wrong, we fix it — publicly and transparently.

Our commitment to accuracy: Justice for One Justice for All takes factual errors seriously. We review all correction requests in good faith, respond promptly, and publish transparent corrections when errors are confirmed. We do not alter published articles without notation. Every correction is dated and attributed.

Types of Corrections

Minor Correction

Typographical errors, misspelled names, incorrect dates, or minor factual inaccuracies that do not materially affect the substance of the report. Published as an inline correction note on the original article.

Significant Correction

Factual errors that materially misrepresent a person, organization, or event. Published as a prominent correction notice at the top of the original article, with a summary of what was changed and why.

Retraction

Reserved for serious errors where the core premise of a report is found to be false or where continued publication would cause significant harm. A retraction notice replaces or prominently precedes the original article.

Right of Response

Individuals or organizations named in accountability reporting may submit a written response for consideration of publication alongside the original report. Responses must be factual and relevant.

How to Submit a Correction Request

01

Identify the Error

Locate the specific article, post, or report containing the information you believe is inaccurate. Note the headline, publication date, and the exact claim in question.

02

Gather Your Evidence

Compile supporting documentation — public records, official statements, court documents, or other verifiable sources that contradict the published claim.

03

Submit Your Request

Post your correction request on the Bulletin Board with the subject line "CORRECTION REQUEST" or use the contact form below. Include all relevant details and evidence.

04

We Review in Good Faith

Our editorial team will review your submission, verify the evidence, and respond within a reasonable timeframe. We may contact you for additional information.

05

Resolution

If a factual error is confirmed, we publish a correction notice on the original article. For serious errors, a full retraction may be issued. All corrections are dated and transparent.

What to Include in Your Request

  • The URL or headline of the article or post in question
  • The specific claim or statement you believe is inaccurate
  • A clear explanation of what you believe is incorrect and why
  • Supporting evidence: public records, official statements, court documents, or other verifiable sources
  • Your name and contact information (kept confidential; not published without consent)
  • Whether you are requesting a correction, retraction, or right of response

Note on user-generated content: Corrections to content posted by community members on the Bulletin Board or Live Chat are the responsibility of the original poster.
